September 2024 - ALL CHANGE!!

As a result of the Schools for the Future programme operating in Central Beds, we are pleased to confirm that Stratton Upper School will become Stratton School in September 2024, a full secondary school, delivering a curriculum from Year 7 to Year 13. More information can be found here on the SFF website - Schools for the Future.

If your child is currently at Biggleswade Academy, a letter from the Local Authority has been sent home, via BA, detailing the bespoke automatic placement of students into Y7, Y8 at Stratton in September 2024. This is as a result of BA becoming a full primary school and ceasing their Key Stage 3 (Y7 and Y8 programmes).

For all other families and students, the Central Beds Admissions Team can be contacted for specific questions on the 2024 application process School admissions | Central Bedfordshire Council

What does a Key Stage 3 look like at Stratton School?

We are incredibly proud to be a part of Meridian Trust. Not only is Meridian an amazingly supportive Multi Academy Trust, it has a phenomenal reputation for supporting schools to enhance amazing learning journeys. As a collective, we believe that the curriculum in Years 7 and 8 should build a bridge between primary school and GCSE study, increasing exposure to subject specialisms and provide solid foundations of Knowledge and Understanding and Key Skills in a broad and balanced range of subjects. The curriculum should provide inspiration and challenge for young minds and support them to take their place in society and modern Britain as successful learners, confident individuals and responsible, employable citizens.

The Meridian website has a clear programme of study for Years 7 and 8 here Key Stage 3 - Meridian Trust which will form the basis of the Stratton School curriculum.
